Taath Kana: Umesh Kamat To Play Premanad Ramani In This Upcoming Biography
Actor Umesh Kamat will soon be seen as Dr. P. S. Ramani in the Biography of this renowned Neuro-Spinal Surgeon, Taath Kana.
Actor Umesh Kamat recently shared the poster of his upcoming Marathi film Taath Kana. This film is based on the book Taath Kana, which depicts the life story of the world's renowned Neuro-Spinal Surgeon and writer, Dr. Premanand S. Ramani. The film is produced by Vijay Mudshingikar and Karan Rawat and directed by director Girish Mohite. The role of Dr. P. S. Ramani in this film will be played by Umesh himself.
The poster looks amazing as Umesh can be seen holding an X-ray image of the spinal cord. It must've been such an honor for Umesh to get a chance to play the character of a Doctor who brought a new light to the world of science with his research on the human spine and invention of the PLIF Ramani Technique.
The Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fission (PLIF) technique is the technique which is being used today to correct the spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis. He has won many awards for his research like the David Dickson Research Man Of The Year Award (Newcastle University, 1973), Paul Bucy Award (Chicago University, 2011), Walter Dandy Neurosurgical Society's Dandy Medal (the US, 2018), and All India Saraswat Bhushan Award (2019). His birthday is celebrated as Neuro-Spinal Day in India.
Every year in Goa a marathon is conducted to honor him. After seeing that the life story of such a great person will be shown in a film, it'll surely be great inspiration for all the medical field students, researchers, and science lovers.
